You will find an extensive hiking network around the Jägersberg. Whatever your level of fitness and difficulty, whether in the picturesque valleys or over striking peaks - we will show you our favourite tours.
Start your hike directly at Jägersberg and get a first impression. From here, you can head towards Tiefenbach or Fischen, for example.
A special highlight is the natural monument Judenkirche. At Jägersberg, simply follow the signposts and discover the striking rock formation with its fantastic view of Oberstdorf.
Far back in the neighbouring Austrian Walsertal valley is the Fluchtalpe in the Wildental valley. The starting point for the hike is the car park at the Schwendle inn near Mittelberg. From here, it's an easy 1-hour walk uphill along a well-maintained hiking trail (also pram-friendly!) to the Fluchtalpe.
Here you should definitely enjoy a classic snack or a delicious home-made piece of cake!
The Fluchtalpe is also the starting point for many other challenging tours, e.g. the Fiderepasshütte, the Mindelheimer Klettersteig, Hammerspitze or Kanzelwand.
The two Gaisalp lakes are located at the foot of the Rubihorn. They can be reached via the Oberstdorf district of Reichenbach and the Gaisalpe of the same name (approx. 1 1/2 - 2 hours on foot). Although the Gaisalp lakes are a destination in themselves, the hike can also be extended to the Rubihorn and the Gaisalphorn, depending on your mood and fitness level. Due to the proximity to the Nebelhorn cable car, the following variant is also possible: Ascent to the 1st station Seealpe, then via Rossbichl to the Rubihorn and the Gaisalp lakes and finally to the Gaisalpe and Reichenbach. From here, you can either continue on foot via the Wallraffweg to the Nebelhornbahn cable car or take the comfortable bus to Oberstdorf.
This view - the picturesque Freibergsee lake, the extravagant ski jump and the Allgäu mountains - is the destination of the hike. Many paths lead to the Freibergsee. For example, from the south of Oberstdorf via Waldesruh and Bergkristall, over the Renksteg or from the ski jump car park. However, the circular route from the Söllereck cable car is particularly beautiful and offers great views. The cable car takes you up to 1,400 metres. From there, the route takes you via Hühermoos and Hochleite to Schwand and Freibergsee. You return to the valley station via Bergkristall.
In a side valley of the Trettachtal is the former mountain farming village of Gerstruben, which is now a listed building in its entirety. Not only the mountain farming village with its sunburnt, originally preserved houses is a sight worth seeing. The way there is also accompanied by natural spectacles. From the Mühlenbrücke bridge (next to the Nebelhorn valley station), the route follows the Trettach river past various inns as well as meadows and fields. For the ascent, you are spoilt for choice: the road (also ideal for a bike tour), through the forest via the Rautweg or along the roaring mountain stream via the Hölltobel.
